This week, third grade has been working on preparing a reader's theater presentation. The story is called "Take Me To Your Litter" and features two aliens who have come to Earth in search of trash. Characters Amanda and Marco, two school students, go for a ride in the alien space ship and explain to the aliens that Earth is not supposed to be filled with trash.
Third grade students were assigned groups and given the script and a few materials to work with. The rest was up to them. I enjoyed their work very much, and every student was an attentive and respectful audience member!
